1. Central Coast Rangeland Coalition Fall Meeting, Rangeland Productivity, Swanton Pacific Ranch, Swanton, CA, October 18, 2018
The Central Coast Rangeland Coalition (CCRC) will hold its fall meeting October 18, 2018— Rangeland Productivity at Swanton Pacific Ranch on the coast in Santa Cruz County. The meeting will address alternate methods of cattle management and corollary effects on productivity and soil. It is also an opportunity to see Cal Poly’s teaching a research facility, and learn about their progress and plans. Indoor lectures, panel discussion will occur in the morning, followed by lunch, then afternoon field sessions. In the CCRC tradition, small group discussions throughout the day will give participants an opportunity to share their expertise and learn from other meeting participants. Agenda and registration.
2. California-Pacific Section Society for Range Management Fall Meeting and Humboldt State University Range/Soil 50th Anniversary, Arcata, CA, October 11-14, 2018
The California-Pacific Section of the Society for Range Management will hold its fall meeting in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of the Rangeland Resource Science and Wildland Soils program at Humboldt State University in Arcata October 11-14, 2018. The main program will be Friday, October 12 with indoor talks, lunch, and a dinner banquet. On Saturday, October 13 A field trip will take participants to the Bear River Valley and Ferndale area for tours of proposed and actual burned costal rangelands.
